What else am I up to?
Besides my day to day work I am engaged in a number of areas in the world of HE, all of which add to my generalist skillset.
I'm undertaking a Professional Doctorate in Business Administration at Bath University, focusing on Higher Education Management. This has deepened my insights into quality assurance, policy design, and institutional change. My thesis is focussed upon social justice and the impact of extenuating circumstances.
I've also connected with sector leaders, enhancing my contributions to the field. Bath University DBA.
AHEP is the association for higher education professionals.
As a trustee I am responsible for supporting and guiding the future of HEPUA (previously known as the AUA) which includes its mission, engagement with members of the association.

With this role I am working on increasing the diversity of the membership and move the association to be more positional on factors affecting professional services members of staff across the higher education sector.
This will be seen in the future plans for the organisation that we are currently developing and through my leading on our collaboration with other sector bodies such as AHUA, AGCAS and UHR to improve the diversity of HE senior management.
I act as external advisor for TASO on the “Gaps in the Student Experience” working group and provide guidance on decisions affecting our research programmes. This includes responsibility for reviewing the current evidence base on a given research theme, reviewing applications into TASO commissioning rounds, making recommendations for funding awards and monitoring funded projects.
